And how do you help them avoid it?
People expect immediate change by doing the same things over and over. There has to be consistent change in your workout program but with rhyme and reason. Not by just changing the amount of reps, sets, or even the weight but by changing THE WAY you exercise and perform the exercises.
To help people avoid making this and other fitness mistakes, my primary responsibility is to match them with a trainer and fitness program that will give them REAL results. We tailor all of our workouts to what the CLIENT wants and needs to achieve their goals!
Variety is the spice of life! Modifying your workouts (reps, sets, weight, order, etc.) every few weeks is an important way to generate results and challenge yourself every time you step into the gym. Strength training and cardio put stress on the body and this induced stress is what gives us our desired results.
Performing the same exercises every week may be effective in the beginning but eventually your body will adapt to the physical demands and you'll hit a plateau in your progress. Try to switch up your routine every 4-6 weeks to keep your body guessing and ensure a fresh workout with exciting results!
Remember: Coming up with new exercises every few weeks can be difficult and hazardous if performed improperly! It's important to consult with personal trainers at Giant Fitness about workouts that would be beneficial and safe for you. We can show you new exercises and how to properly execute them to prevent injury, while challenging and helping you achieve the results you want!
My ideal client is a student who is willing to learn and use what they learn to live a healthy and fit lifestyle.
